Barbara and I are going on the Explorer of the Seas on the 9 day cruise
on June 25th --- wondering if anyone has been on the ship recently ---
any thoughts? Like to book Portofino's in advance for a couple of
nights, but it's probably a crap shoot to select the ideal nights ---
nights when the less attractive entrees are offered in the MDR. We're
trying the "My Time Dining" option --- should be interesting and
different. Probably eat at 6 or after 8 anyway so we don't miss the
Shows --- Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Best to book Portofino's right after your board, as this is a popular
diningroom.

The ship is beautiful!

Carol,

I think I'll probably still be able to book online.

You might be able to find out from some place like cruise critic to see what
the menus are on the various night. The first night usually has the mini
slices of fillet mignon in the dining room... so don't miss that. And the
formal nights are usually good in the dining room. It's the casual nights
(like Caribbean night) that usually have the worst meals. Those are the
nights I'd concentrate on.
