I know Beauvais is a long way out but what would folks recommend I do. Pay the extra and have a shorter journey or is the trip from Beauvais tolerable? Thanks. In CDG the RER B trains to Gare du Nord, Chatelet etc... arrive inside terminal 2. T1 an T2 are linked by a light metro called CGDVAL : http://www.adp.fr Cost : 8.40 € and duration : 25 mn (8.90 € with Roissybus) : http://www..ratp.fr then "tarifs", etc... or http://www.ratp.info/orienter/aeroport_roissy.php then clic on the choosen transport. In Paris the Ryanair bus stop is just on the West side of Palais des Congrés. The metro line 1 and RER A stations (Porte Maillot) are 5 mn away on its East side. Map : http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/img/plan_paris.gif Beauvais is 80 km away and it takes 1 h15 mn. The cost is 13 € or 26 € for return ticket : http://www.paris-beauvais.fr/?gclid=...FRdatAodlAdMmQ In Beauvais airport the Ryanair bus stop in just in front the exit of the luggage room. The local bus stop to the railways station is just the other side of the street next to the fenced car park and costs about 1 €. Map : http://www.beauvais.fr/pages/aimerbv...planreseau.jpg Timetables of line #12 (or partial line #11B + about 500 m walk during week ends or public holidays) on pages 30 to 35 : http://www.beauvais.fr/pages/aimerbvs/transport.php then clic on "guide horaires" at end of page http://www.beauvais.fr/pages/accueil...=accueil=centr.... Timetables to print, since "I think" that there's none in the bus shelter next to the railways station. But there's one at the airport bus stop. There is as well a direct bus shuttle between the railways station and the airport which uses the same terminal bus stops than bus line #12. I didn't find its timetables at the shuttle stops. Perhaps in : http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com or http://www.paris-beauvais.fr For Beauvais visit :http://www.beauvais.fr/eng/ Rather well rebuilt despite WWII destruction of the central medieval area (reminds me Compiègne reconstruction or a german rebuilt city preserving some isolated monuments here and there like Hildesheim for ex.) : Part of the roman city wall, towers & ruins, cathedral, tapestry museum (manufacture similar to the Gobelins), bishop palace (museum, main building closed : works ?), 2 medieval churches (one of the 10th c. : closed for works ?), convents, old hospital, few timber houses on the spared edges (North, East). The trains arrive at gare du Nord : http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/acce...//www.ter-sncf... prices added at : http://www.voyages-sncf.com It takes 1 h 20 mn and costs 12 € or 24 € for returm ticket So with the 1 € local bus that's 13 €, and rather similar to Ryanair bus. But the last is easier if you don't want to see the town of Beauvais. didier Meurgues |
