Try www.wotif.com.au

How far out of the centre do you want? You'll save a few
bucks if you stay in the outer centre - Fortitude Valley, or
the Wickham Terrace area or South Brisbane/West End.

What is your budget?

Mate - in a city of about 1.5 million!!!! What do you reckon? How many fleas
do you want?

Seriously - of course every Brisbanite will know several. In what suburb?
What other characteristics do you need? Proximity to city/train/airport etc
etc etc

Thanks. Preferably near train, but would consider any area where tarriff is
around $65 to $75 per night. They exist everywhere but usually don't spend a
lot on marketing and therefore hard to find on internet.

A quick google found this bus company web-page with a list
of cheapies.
http://www.waywardbus.com.au/leadsbr...ckpackers.html

Of them, I have stayed at the Tourist Guest House
http://www.backpackertours.com.au/ac...om.php?acc=178

The bed was clean and comfortable, buses to the centre
nearby, and a common kitchen was available. However the
walls were paper thin and the Swedish foursome in the next
room seemed to be enthusiastically and loudly practising for
a porn movie all night long.

For a little more ($80-$95) I usually stay in South
Brisbane, near West End if possible - excellent cafes there
for a nice breakfast or a pleasant evening meal.

If you can pick a time when the specials are happening at
the Hillcrest in South Brisbane you get a studio or
one-bedroom flat with full kitchen facilities there.

everywhere.
