Default Carnival Legend Friday last minute questions

Hi again, hubby and I are going on our first cruise Friday out of NY on
the Carnival Legend. We have an extended balcony stateroom on the
Verandah deck, category 8G. Does anyone know what ammenities we will
have in the room, I know there are bathrobes, I have no idea what else to
expect. Also is there a mini bar or just an ice bucket?
Do we need to bring extra pool or beach towels?
Any other tips that will be helpful to firt time cruises will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks!

Default Carnival Legend Friday last minute questions

Amenities are hard to predict -- it seems to me that they get
whatever 'freebies' they can for their amenities. There may
be razors, there may be a little lotion sample, there may be
liquid soap samples. Maybe litle bars of soap. I've never
seen the same things twice.

No mini bar, just ice.

There will be two types of towels -- for in-room use there
are bath towels and hand towels. There's also one pool towel
per person which you will be charged for if you lose. Too many
people took them ashore and abandoned them so now they charge.
At the pool, if you want a towel, you give your sign and sail
card and must return the towel or you'll be charged.

Finding the dining room is a real trick for first timers --
because of the location of the galley. there are maps of
the ship at every elevator.

Be careful not to inadvertantly buy a souvenir glass -- you
can get the drink of the day with or without the glass.

Any other questions, feel free to ask...

Hey Brent, how come my room didn't have one? Maybe it
was broken and had been removed, I suppose. There
was a large storage compartment that could have held
a mini bar. I thought it was rather strange not to have one.

You'll love the cabin and the balcony.

Does anyone know what ammenities we will
have in the room, I know there are bathrobes, I have no idea what else to
expect.

Soap, shampoo, and a bunch of promotional freebies from various
companies (e.g., disposable razors, hair products, deodorant, breath
mints, etc).

Also is there a mini bar or just an ice bucket?

Yes (see response from Brentsell). If you want to use the mini bar as a
fridge, just tell your steward and he/she will be happy to empty it for you.

Do we need to bring extra pool or beach towels?

No.

Any other tips that will be helpful to firt time cruises will be greatly
appreciated.

If you are a slot player, be sure to insert your sail'n'sign card into
the machines. You will get credits toward cashback comps on future
Carnival cruises, and cruises on any other lines they own.

Be sure to check out the ice-cream buffets on several afternoons by the
aft pool on the lido deck. They are without parallel on other ships.

Any other questions, just shoot.

Howie

Thanks!

Howie
How do those sign and sail cards work in the casino? Does it initially
work on a Carnival ship or can it be initially used on a ship owned by
Carnival but not carrying the Carnival name i.e HAL

SUNNY How long has this beeen going on?

Check out the ports you'll be visiting ahead of time. You probably do
not need to take a ship's excursion if you do some reading ahead of time.

Be sure to check out the ice-cream buffets on several afternoons by the
aft pool on the lido deck. They are without parallel on other ships.

There's self-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt there 24 hours a day, but
Howie's referring to the special ice cream (including hand-dipped scoops
if you know to ask for them) spreads they have on sea days late in the
afternoons.

Eileen
