There have been times when I want to get a lounge on deck and they're
all filled with peoples towels. I wish there was some way to indicate
if you're not going to be near your lounge chair for 15 minutes, you
don't get to reserve it indefinately (or until the crew cleans up
after the crowds go away.)

You were intimidated by towels on chairs? While I don't like seeing

what some

selfish people do, it doesn't mean I let them get away with it. You

shouldn't,

either.

If the chair is vacant, and there is no leg on it (as in one of a couple

saving

the other's while the missing person is in the restroom or grabbing a

soda to

bring back right away), it's YOURS.

Yep. Often I just sit down and state "when he returns, the chair is all
his." Wanna know how many times "he or she" never returns?

Howie

If I have to leave for a few minutes and really want to keep my chair (I
need one in the full shade), I'll leave a personal item or 2 on the chair,
like a book and a hat.

I've never had anyone move a book and hat, but on the other hand.. I come
back very quickly to not lose the book and hat.

--Tom

So tell me Tom. Suppose you went to pee, and when you got back, you
found that I had carefully moved your hat or book, and was sitting in
your chair (actually, I've never moved a hat or book, so this is
hypothetical). When you return, I promptly get up, bring you a fresh
towel, and the seat is yours. Is there any harm in that?

No harm... but ONLY if you also brought me lemonade with the fresh towel.

(John Chapman) stated:

Similar to the "no personal booze on board" policy that most ignore, I
would guess that admonitions with respect to towels are more to
discourage rather than to enforce. Anyway, you can get all the towels
you want in the spa/pool area and no one would know the difference.

Hi John,

On our most recent Carnival and RCCL cruises, this no longer the case. Each
passenger is provided a beach towel in their cabin at embarkation, and
refreshed at your request. Extra towels are available poolside, but passengers
are required to sign for these, and have the returns receipted. Just how
agressive the lines are in enforcing the policy, I don't know. We have not had
any problems, but it is a nuisance at times.

Cruising on HAL in two weeks; I guess we'll see if their policy has changed
also.

Limonchello chilled in a martini glass would be nice.

Tom & Peri,

Depends upon the ship. If it's RCCL, I'm gonna bring you a Jamaican
style banana daiquiri, with a dirty bottom & top. I'm gonna give the
dude who makes it an extra buck, when I hand him my cruise card; so it
will be strong enough to knock you on your ass.

Hi Lee,

Sounds like a good use of children. It would give them something
productive to do while earning their keep. ;+)

We had a problem with Carnival two years ago the night before we were to leave
our cabin steward told us when he saw us in the hallway that we were missing a
towel and he would have to charge us for it. We told him we only used two and
left them each day in the bathroom with other dirty towels. He told us he
would have to charge us - my husband was adament and told him if there was a
charge on our account for a towel he would remove it from HIS tip! No charge
on our slip
