Default Fenix Language Institute in Zacatecas?

Have any of you attended this school? A German friend highly
recommended it, though she was there some 12 years ago. Their Web site
is up to date, so I know they're still in business. Have studied twice
in Cuernavaca and once in Quito, and since I don't know northern Mexico
I thought this would be a nice change of pace.

Can't help you with the Institute, but Zacatecas is a nice town. Don't
miss the Goitia museum or the mask museum. Remember that it is very
high in elevation, so tends to be cold in the winter.

I like to read the newspaper from Zacatecas, like a small town paper.

Thanks...I've been reading up on the town and it sounds a good place.
The high elevation will be a great escape from torrid Tucson in June.
I read somewhere on the Web that Mexicana serves the city, but I can't
find a point of origination from the the U.S. Does this mean having
to fly to DF first?

You will probably fly through Mexico City, which is the airline hub for
the entire country. I think that Mexicana has resumed nonstop service
from Denver to Zacatecas, but only one or two flights a week. When we
took it, it was a redeye, but of course very convenient if you live near
Denver. We were the only gringos on the plane.

I looked at the map, and Tucson is a very long way from Zacatecas, 24
hours by bus, so that is not terribly attractive. You would probably
cross the border at Nogales or El Paso, and change buses in Chihuahua.
Would cost around $200 round trip. Time vs. money. If flights are
expensive and inconvenient, the bus might be worth considering, however.
