Default From West coast to Boston and Toronto.

Am looking for a mid-June trip to Boston for a wedding then to Toronto.
Unfortunately it has to be on a specific date for Boston. Wondering what is
the best way to book tickets. Open jaw SFO-Boston-Toronto-SFO? Or rt
SFO-Boston, then rt Boston-Toronto?

How long do you have to get to/from Toronto? If there's enough time and
or people, renting a car (NOT from the City of Boston proper or the
airport) might be a better/cheaper option. U.S. and Canadian fees and
txaes make the transborder fare potentially expensive.

Otherwise, consider SEA-BOS or SEA -PVD (Providence, Rhode Island) or
even SEA-MHT (Manchester, NH) for cheap fares depending on where the
wedding is. Compare it all to the open jaw.

How long is the drive? I may travel a bit from Toronto to Montreal and make
it a triangle back to Boston.

Sorry we are flying from northern CA. The wedding is in Boston.

BOS-Toronto would be at least 9 hours depending on route. Probably less
to Montreal. 3-4 hours Montreal-Toronto IIRC.

o.k. Wherever your point of departure is, or nearby. I wager OAK and
SJC or even SMF may be good alternatives to SFO.

Yes, and Southwest flies very inexpensively into Providence from a couple
of those. I'd consider into Providence (about an hour to 1.5 hours from
Boston depending on traffic and time of day) and out of Albany NY on Southwest.

That depends on what you mean by "best." There are a lot of options.
Price out the different options you already mentioned (include cost
of ground transportation between cities) and see what works out the
lowest cost, assuming that lowest cost is your primary consideration.

Checked them all, even SW is now close to $400 rt. I'll wait a bit.

That IS a better choice, I just did not realize Southwest flew to Buffalo.
(and did not have time to check).

Buffalo is MUCH better.
