Where to buy air ticket? (for San Diego to Austin)
I'm leaving from San Diego, CA to Austin, TX in mid August.
Is there any suggestion where I can buy cheap air ticket? What is the reasonable price for one passenger? |

Where to buy air ticket? (for San Diego to Austin)
If you fly on Monday the 16th you can go for around $100 on Southwest
one way on a late flight. It changes in Las Vegas. The weekend will go up considerably. Peng Yu wrote: I'm leaving from San Diego, CA to Austin, TX in mid August. Is there any suggestion where I can buy cheap air ticket? What is the reasonable price for one passenger? |

Assuming one way, there are a number of carriers that pretty well match fares with each other. -Frontier -Southwest -Continental -Delta They all require a change somewhere. Right now they are about $175 for early August, up to the 15th. The fares drop to about $110 for the rest of the month, a bit higher on weekends. |

One way Assuming one way, there are a number of carriers that pretty well match fares with each other. -Frontier -Southwest -Continental -Delta I checked those websites. There are substantial differences between the prices shown on their websites, even for the same day similar schedule flight. Why? Is there hidden difference? Share I only consider the price, stop-or-non-stop and the departure time of that day? Is there any thing that I should consider when I buy the ticket? They all require a change somewhere. What is the change? Do you mean change to another air plane when it's stop in the middle? Right now they are about $175 for early August, up to the 15th. The fares drop to about $110 for the rest of the month, a bit higher on weekends. What's the difference between Orbitz and Expedia's websites and those airline companies' websites in term of searching for the lowest price ticket? |

There is no single fare. They charge more as the aircraft fills up, or as the date of the flight approaches. Early morning or late evening flights will probably be less expensive than flights operating at peak times of the day. Is there hidden difference? Not really. Southwest doesn't assign seats, but has a bit more legroom than Continental. Those sorts of differences typically aren't reflected in the price. Share I only consider the price, stop-or-non-stop and the departure time of that day? That's pretty well it. I think Southwest is the only airline that offers a non-stop flight. Is there any thing that I should consider when I buy the ticket? If you are unsure of when you want to travel, or if you feel you might miss the flight, check the airlines' rules for changing their tickets. Some are much more expensive and less flexible than others. What's the difference between Orbitz and Expedia's websites and those airline companies' websites in term of searching for the lowest price ticket? Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia are travel agencies. They will offer you tickets on pretty well any airline, and charge a small fee for the service. You will sometimes find cheaper fares on these sites than the individual airlines', because of the timimg of fare increases or specials, but typically the airline sites will offer the same or lower fares. The individual airline sites will only offer tickets for their own flights, or those of partner airlines. Note that Southwest airlines doesn't appear on the travel agency sites, so you have to specifically check their web site for their schedules and fares. |

Do those airlines have the same restrictions on luggages? Or some of them have stricter restrictions? |
