tip: take small short wave radio to cancun

the cancun packages are deeply discounted, because it's coming the hurricane
season in sept--oct (exactly when?)

if ya take that increased risk, ya adventuresome damn fool:

in order to be abreast of the weather report, one ought have a radio, because
the cnn/satellite often conks-out, especially during person-a-caine season

i've seen/have bought short-wave portable radios for as little as
$15--$25--wondering if such gets an adequate signal in english down there (?)

don't forget the batteries, would-be marconis-sarnoffs

the hotels/resorts (apparently) DO NOT (as a deliberate bad faith policy, imho)
discuss/warn/caution/notify guests about reports of u-know-what out there

if ya think i am merely making this dumb paranoia up, then you may be too young
to recall that damaging hurricane approx 20+ years or so ago

what ought one do when one gets a report of a hurricane heading toward one's
paradise?

well, you're on an island or penisula down there

looking at the recent punta gorde charlie reverse/turn, i am not cognizant of
what i'd do to protect myself in a damn hurricane or tornado

i once witnessed a tarnado go over my house, and i once almost drove into one
(right after it damaged a shopping center)--it's sumthin one doesn't forget

maybe that ole humphrey bogart--edward g. robinson movie on tcm would be
instructive...
