Default WA in Winter????

Hi all. Need help! We're a couple of QLDers who had planned to visit
Perth and surrounds in September for the wildflowers, but can't get
the leave from work at that time. The only alternative is June/July.
Is it too much to expect wildflowers at that time? If so, what other
interesting things are there to see and do at that time?

Or are we better off going somewhere else?
