I'll be in Montreal next week on vacation. Are day bus trips
available in English? Any recommendations? Can you get a bus day trip to Quebec City and return? Any recommendations? Merci. |

Yes, there are several buses destined for Quebec City every day of the week. Check out www.greyhound.ca for pricing and schedules. In Montreal, the buses all leave from the bus terminal which is next to Berri-UQAM metro station. If you've a few people in your group, you might also want to look into renting a car. Quebec City isn't even a three-hour drive from Montreal. I live in Montreal so I've never researched or used one of those sight-seeing buses that show you the sights here but my experience with them abroad is that they all offer 4 or 5 languages through headphones so I really don't see why English wouldn't be available on whatever tours exist here. You might want to check out Gray Line tours, which offers tours in Montreal and also a day trip to Quebec City. (Apparently they are called "Canada Coach" in Canada.) Their site (which is in English) says their Montreal tour has a bilingual guide, and I presume the Quebec City tour is bilingual also, but you might want to call or write to confirm exactly how they narrate their tours. http://www.coachcanada.com/montrealsightseeing/ You also might want to check with your hotel to see if they have any recommendations. If you just want a regularly scheduled bus, not a guided tour, then see URL:http://www.orleansexpress.com/english/index.asp.
