Default reservations for museums admissions?

ben wrote in message ...
i understand that there's a lot of talk online about reservations of
tickets for entry to some museums in particular the Uffizi Galleries
and the Accademia Gallery in florence, is that absolutely neccesary?
thanks

No, reservations are not absolutely necesssary, as long as you have
nothing better to do in Florence than to stand in a line for two
hours. But intelligent travelers prefer to spend 60 seconds making a
reservation, spend a couple of hours elsewhere, then parade smugly
past those waiting in line.....

Reservations are somewhat less important for the Accademia than for
the Uffizi, especially now that David is scaffolded.....
