Hi Barbara,

Yes, Oceania's ships originally sailed for the old Renaissance.
Any more questions, just ask!

Best regards,

Is one of its founders formerly with Renaissance?

Hi Ben,

One of the founders was with Ren and one was President of Crystal. Of
course, the head of Public Relations was (is) with r.t.cruises. ;+)

There were 8 almost identical Ren. ships. Are Are all 8 in regular cruise
service? Where has each gone? I wonder how the faux interior finishes are
holding up.

Oceania has the R1 & R2, Princess has the R3 & R4. Can't remember the exact
location of the others off the top of my head.

The interiors have held up beautifully, including the rich fabrics used for
window coverings and upholstery as well as carpeting and wall coverings.
Oceania has made some minor changes to customize the decor and freshen the
appearance of some spaces, resulting in Regatta's warmer look. The new
bedding is heaven.

We just got back from a cruise on the Insignia. We loved it. It was
our first smaller ship. Our vast experience is 2 previous Princess
cuises (Dawn + Golden). I will try to get a summary up soon after the
smoke settles from being away for 2 weeks and I can grab my wife to
type it.
Basically ship + crew were great but with a few glitches. We expected
some since it was only the ships second trip.
Thanks again to the people here that have offered us bits of wisdom
along the way.
