Default Surfboard for NZ

My wife and I are visiting NZ for three weeks in December and will probably
travel by campervan. I'd like to find out if I can avoid taking a long
board with me by renting one in NZ. I've never heard of that but any ideas
or referrals would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jim D

Whereabouts in NZ do you want to surf i.e. do you intend travelling
around both islands or stay in one particular region?

Our route is both islands, basically north to south, and I hope to surf a
variety of locations.
Thanks,
