Why don't you just filter out his spam the way almost everyone else
does, rather than responding? He probably has a script set up to spam
this "FAQ" (LOL) periodically, and he does not even see your responses.

1. Do you think that Mr. Levine is benefiting personally from his weekly
posts as the spam comment would suggest?
2. Are his posts on topic or not?
3. Don't you think you might be better off filtering the person you replied
to?

Yes, I look at rec.travel.air.

As I have said before, it's sort of flattering having a nemesis,
even such a stupid one.

R's,
John

Just as stoopid as posting the same thing over and over again, believing the
world needs you and no one else.

There was a time when this newsgroup was a vibrant place to learn about air
travel with the participation of a pilot, road warriors who loved to tell
stories including one who rated computer gear and suitcases and was very
entertaining. There were detailed trip reports and there was even some
bantering between opposing personalities that was sometimes very humerous
and almost always entertaining. You could count on 150 posts or more in a
day.

It was the proliferation of people like you who eventually made it what it
is today - just an empty shell of what it used to be. If you don't like the
weekly posts then why not just ignore them instead of commenting and copying
the entire post along with your one line of (half)wit. IMO, if his posts
help five people in a year, he has contributed a much greater amount to
rec.travel.air than you.

Yes. Not financially, but in other ways.

2. Are his posts on topic or not?

I don't know if he's changed recently or not since he's filtered. The
subject is "on topic" but the "information" is often incorrect to the
point of being amusing.

3. Don't you think you might be better off filtering the person you replied
to?

It's not either-or. I filtered him as well. It's just annoying to have
to keep adding clueless and annoying individuals to the filter lists.

In any case, the easy solution is to just do a subject filter, which I
will do after this post, and that will be the end of that.
