RIP rec.travel.usa-canada. You once were a viable newsgroup. But now you
have been overrun with spam. The ironic thing is, when all that is left
of this newsgroup but spam. There will be no one left to read it or
filter it out. The spammers will be spamming each other.

With a newsreader with good filtering capabilities - yours
(Thunderbird) doesn't qualify - it's not too difficult to filter out
most spam. Also a good NSP (News Service Provider) can make a lot of
difference.

Only SUCKERS actually PAY for a NSP.

Activity in this group comes and goes. You just have to float with it. Get
a news reader that will filter the spam if it bothers you. Things will pick
up.

used to be nice to see the trip reports and think back to your own
trips, or store bits and pieces into the recessof you mind for if and
whenever you may end up there.........

best tip I ever got was something I read 5 years before going to
disney world about asking to sit up front on the monorail with the
"driver".....

seeing the look on my 4 year olds face as pulled out of the hotel and
he had an unobstructed view of tomorowland and the castle and the
excitement as the 2 things grew closer......

thanks to the many posters that have made this a must read part of
everymoring....up until about 6 months ago that is.....

btw, anyone buy those cheap nikes?

It is USENET in general. Traffic in most groups--even the ones that used
to be bustling--
is W-A-Y down.

The ironic thing is, when all that is left of this newsgroup but spam.

An old saying bantied around for years is the similar "the only people left
on the groups will be the people who ruined them."

Why are these RIP messages appearing on every single group? This group is
still valid, and if you don't know how to block crap by now, you do have a
problem.

You should answer that question about yourself before assailing others. Or
are you an over-defensive owner of a spambot or two? ;-) KM
