Default US: PIT-LGW to resume next summer

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/031209/dctu023_1.html

US Airways plans on restarting PIT-LGW next summer. This is
surprising news given all the talk about US abandoning its PIT hub and
shutting down PIT-LGW indefinitely just two months ago. It looks as
if US will be getting the plane by shifting the 767 used on the second
PHL-LGW summer flight to PIT-LGW (PHL-LGW will go down to once daily).
Perhaps US decided that the British Isles are now already well served
from PHL (PHL-LGW; PHL-MAN; PHL-SNN; PHL-DUB; and new PHL-GLA) that
there will be less need for a second PHL-LGW. This plus the fact that
FRA/MUC will become more important European transit centers for them
(with their new partnership with LH) than LGW. Interestingly, this
decision was made after a meeting with the new executive (executive
elect?) of Allegheny County (Pittsburgh).
It has been my understanding that US Airways had room for one more
long haul flight in their summer schedule. The fact that it looks
like they will restart PIT-LGW by sacrificing one daily PHL-LGW means
that they are likely holding out for adding at least one more long
haul flight in their summer schedule. Any thoughts? PIT-MUC (now
that LH has decided to start CLT-MUC, PIT will remain the only US
Airways hub not connected to both of LH's major hubs)? New
destinations out of PHL (Stockholm, Milan, Barcelona)?
