From someone in their 40s. I would suggest a resort in Puerto Plata or
Sosua in the Dominican Republic. The Jack Tar in the Playa Dorada or the Victorian House in Sosua. Both have multiple choices for dining and in addition there are several good restaurants and clubs away from the resorts. The El Dorado Royale on the Mayan Riviera had four a la carte restaurants but the entertainment finishes fairly early (before midnight). Many of the resorts on the Mayan Riviera are isolated and require a taxi to get to other restaurants or clubs. Cancun could be an option but depending when in February you are going, you may run into spring break partiers.
