Default UK visitor hotel/motel advice - NY, Montreal,Toronto,Chicago,Dallas,Washington,NY

First trip to the USA and Canada this March/April. I am travelling
into Newark then using a 15 day Amtrack pass on the routes
above.
Going with my son aged 12, I have booked the first two days in
NY - we are staying 20 days for the whole trip.

Any suggestions for hotels near the city centres/Amtrack depots.
He is really keen on staying in Chicago and NY especially for
a few days.

We would like to keep the daily hotel costs down on such a long trip

Thanks for you help

Dave

You can get good deals on www.priceline.co.uk BUT you need to know when
you're likely to be in the city (the costs are NONE refundable). You can
specify the zone you'd like to stay in so if you know the location of the
train station you're OK.
