Default DEADMONTON Canada - Pizza With Crickets-With Insecticides?

DEADMONTON Canada, in a pathetic attempt to lure tourists,is promoting
pizzas with crickets, and pizzas with gator, for the so-called Capital EX.

The SUN newspaper featured the news Thursday 5 July 2012.

Fairgoers can kiss their diets goodbye when they attend this year’s
Capital EX.

The annual festival, running July 20 to 29 on the Northlands Grounds,
announced its grandiose food lineup Thursday.

Among the more unique eats will be cricket pizza, alligator pizza,
Shepherd’s Pie poutine and French Fried Wagon Wheels.

“We’re hoping to kind of spice up the traditional fare food and offer
something a little bit different for people to get excited about,” said
Northlands spokeswoman Lauren Andrews.

City officials have never ruled crickets as fit for human consumption.
Provincial officials at Alberta Health Services are now investigating.
Federal officials with Canada Food Inspection Services say they have
never approved crickets as fit for human consumption.

Because farmers regularly use deadly pesticides, to control crickets,
grasshoppers and locusts, it is more than likely that these crickets will
have loads of deadly poison.

So what if some people die and hundreds get seriously poisoned,
Northlands can pay from all their profits, just like with the Maple
Leaf Meats situation, where 27 died,30,000 poisoned.

Tourists are better advised to go to the CALGARY STAMPEDE.
Have a great time, don't eat poisoned crickets.
