NCL Back-to-back

I seem to remember when taking a back-to-back on NCL's 3/4 day cruises
that I had to get off the ship and check in at the terminal for the
second cruise.

Is this still the program in Miami, or can back-to-back passengers
simply stay on the ship and check in for the second cruise at the
reception desk

I think it is still the way the port of Miami makes them do it. We
did a 9+5 day cruise in December of 2007 on NCL Pearl in Miami, and we
had to get off and get back on. When we did b-t-b out of Norfolk on
HAL in 2006, we did not have to get off.
