Default Princess Grands aft suite how's the noise level?

Kev, I cruised on the Grand Princess two weeks ago, my cabin was on the
8th Deck. This was the roughest ride I have had on any cruise ship. On
a couple of nights, the ship was rocking and rolling as I was trying to
sleep. I experienced similar motion on another ship when I had an aft
cabin.

I enjoyed this cabin, the balcony and the view and I will be happy to
cruise in this cabin again. However, the Vista Lounge is right under the
aft cabins on the 8th Deck. When the "show" starts at 7:00, you hear
the band. I was getting dressed for dinner, so I did not find the music
disturbing. The noise never bothered me at night because I was usually
out and about.

The advantage to these cabins IMO; there were no inside cabins where you
hear the doors across from yours opening and closing, there are no
people walking up and down the hall talking and there were no balcony
doors slamming. It was so peaceful and quiet. Like I said, I would stay
in this cabin again.

If you email me, I will be happy to answer any questions.

I've seen mention by others that the rear of the Princess Grand class
ships (and no doubt others of all lines) can be noisy because of the
Club Fusion type entertainment rooms in the aft section.

I was on a Grand last summer, and I vaguely seem to recall hearing
party noise from my midship balcony, and thinking to myself "I'm glad
I'm not back there!" But perhaps my memory is faulty.

Has anyone sailed in a Vista Suite at the rear of the ship, and if so,
what deck were you on, and how was the noise level? (If I'm going to
pay thousands extra for it, I want to hear the ocean and engines, not
dance music :-)

Thanks!
Kev
