Default China - the giant

China is home to one of the world's four great civilizations. A
history of seven thousand years has left behind great numbers of
cultural relics and places of historical interest that are spread
across the width and breadth of the vast country.

A visitor to China is attracted by green mountains and meandering
rivers south of the Yangtze River and by grasslands and forests in
north and northeast China. For many overseas visitors, however, it is
the Chinese people and their culture that have a huge draw.

The Chinese people nurtured by seven thousand years of civilization
have unique customs and lifestyles, not least because China is a big
family of 56 ethnic groups.

The Chinese civilization has also nurtured a brilliant culture and
art. Music, dances, opera, wushu, calligraphy, painting, engraving,
silk-weaving, porcelain-making, cuisine, architecture ... all have a
unique Chinese flavor and attractions.

Today, a reform and opening-up program is rapidly changing the face of
the country. The Chinese people are fast marching toward
modernization.

Many people in the West often regard going to China as a "dream" that
is far away and mysterious.
An ancient Arab saying goes: "Be it as far away as China, it is worth
going for the sake of seeking knowledge."

Is China really far away?

Today, modern means of transportation has long turned our vast globe
into a small global village. It takes only eight hours to fly to
Beijing from Stockholm and twelve hours to fly to Beijing from western
Europe, North America or Australia. That is to say, departure in the
morning and arrival in the evening. China is no longer far away.

In addition to transportation, China now has modern accommodation,
catering, shopping and entertainment facilities.

People touring the vast country can have surprising findings every
day.

Hi,
China is truly a giant and its not only the west who have an opinion of china. Africa is also mystified by China and know that it is far away and mysterious.
Perhaps we can have a few Chinese come over to Kenya and get a few Kenyans to tour China.
What do you think.
