10 days RV cruise from Toronto
Hello,
We have the late oppotunity to travel 10 days, starting from Toronto (we will also stay 6 days in Toronto apart from that). We have rented a RV, and we now hesitate between travelling towards the north or towards the south of the lake Huron. We prefer wilderness and quiet places, and we also prefer staying each time 1 or 2 days in a place before moving. Some walks in some national parks would be nice (not big walks, since there are 2 children, 4 and 7 years old), and some baths in the lakes too :-). Any advice is welcome about the places not to be missed. many thanks, Pehache (France) -- pehache enlever NOSPAM. etc... pour répondre / remove NOSPAM... to reply http://pehache.free.fr/public.html |

There are some nice beaches further north on Lake Huron and Georgian Bay is nice and the Bruce Peninsula that separates Georgian Bay from Lake Huron is quite scenic. You can take a ferry over to Manitoulin Island. There is an interesting recreation of the French mission Ste.Marie Among the Huron near Midland. The drive along the east side of Georgian Bay is also quite scenic. Kilarney Provincial Park is at the north end of the Bay. Then you can head east to Algonquin Park which has lots of camping sites. You may want to check the provincial parks web site to make reservations because there are limited spaces and reservations are usually required. Algonquin park is a great spot for camping. There are lots of lakes, hiking trails, a museum. You might want to stick to a campsite that has a store because there are very few stores in the park. You can rent a canoe and explore some of the lakes. |

(Have a visit to Ottawa while you are there.) Be sure to make reservations: http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/reservations.html PS: Nous nageons dans les lacs mais, nous ne nous baignons pas dans un lac. Il y a des douches aux parcs. I hope you enjoy your visit. -- Seinfeld Lists http://wave.prohosting.com/tnguym LOST - ScreenSnaps & Sawyer's Nicknames http://tinyurl.com/a2r2r |
