Not that you're in any way prone to prejudice on the topic!

{But take my advice, in such matters sticking to the present tense is

always

the best choice. At worst, it ups your chances of "getting lucky". For

some

reason this calls to mind that recently a [very lovely] friend's

husband
made the mistake of reacting to her new red haircolor by saying "I

married a

blonde!". Without missing a beat, she replied "And I married a 23

year-old

with a 29 inch waist... kinda explains that "better or worse" thing, I
guess".)

I am lucky, Mila. There's little more important than being lucky in

love.

One can only assume, Eileen, that you're a world-class beauty!

Cab drivers certainly can be a bit "crazy-making", can't they? I

They [drivers] undoubtedly pay no attention to them anyhow... kind

can

be maddening. (I do, by the way [and it's way too complicated a

Tee hee. The way I used to get a cab to Brooklyn as a teenager was

to
get IN the cab before I told the driver where I wanted to go. This
always worked.

Yiddish is such a marvelously colorful spoken language, with a kind of
built in irony that does not exist in English. Over the years, I've
found it very challenging to translate the connotative meaning of many
words and expressions for friends (both jewish and gentile). It really
is a pity that the language is dying out.

Maybe it's the NY in me, but I find, for example, "Zolst leben un zein
gezunt!" has just that little more to it [and is just more fun to say] than
"You should live and be well!".

When I was growing up in Brooklyn I didn't take cabs, just used the bus
or the subway.

No kidding? Where? I spent my college years in the always easy to get
a cab to Fort Greene, then near B'klyn College, and finally in Park
Slope until I left NY.

Did we have this converation before?? I am a Brooklyn Girl, grew up in
Park Slope and moved near Erasmus, but went to Midwood.
