Do you think the following amounts of time are adequate (or too much) for
these cities?

New York: 4 full days
Boston: 3 full days
Quebec: 3 full days
Montreal: 3 full days
Toronto: 3 full days
Niagara Falls: 1 full day

Really depends on what you want to do. Offhand I would say 4 full days in
NYC is not enough. The others are adequate. One day in Niagara Falls is
enough.

3 days is adequate for Boston only if you are staying in the city
itself and not visiting more than one museum. The Museum of Fine Arts
is a full day in itself.

Not enough time for NYC. For better or worse, given your itinerary, it's
probably best taken from Toronto (I'd argue that Boston isn't really worth
the trouble of a visit at all, but I have a feeling that would draw some
angry responses).

too many days, 1 night and parts of 2 days is enough
