Mountaineering Trip to Hkaka-bo-ra-zi

The Hkakaborazi Mountain (19315) ft is the highest mountain in South East Asia. It is the continuity part of Himalayas and Tibett Ranges, located at the Northen Myanmar in Kachin State.

Starting the trip from Yangon to Puta-O by plane. Normally it takes 40 days for round trip. Express trip use to take 32-34 days. Arrived at Puta-O Airport and drive to Machanbaw. Upon arrival, meet the local porters for the trip. The travellers have to change the local porters along the whole trips.

Start the trekking from Machanbaw to Gupha village with crossing over the Malikha River by reft.Night stop at the village.

Next day proceed for 8 miles long trip to reach Nankhan. Then after took 3½ hrs meet the Rawan hill tribe and take night stop at Nammtee camp.

Proceed for the wonderful trip on nextday. Cross the streams, climb up the mountain road trip is an attractive experience above 1000ft to 2000 ft.

Then cross the Nammtee stream to reach the Guest House I for night stop. Nextday proceed for 1½ hrs, reach the guest House II and night stop. There are only 4 cottages in the village.

Continue the 9 miles trip for 8 hrs above the 6000ft hillside. Upon this trip 4 miles have to take stepdown carefully for the pieces of stones. Then reach to Paza village. Proceed for 9 miles rough trip with different kinds of uphill climb and step-down trips. Then cross the wonderful suspension bridge over the Kasankha Stream. After cross over the bridge the travellers have to change the local porters.

After travelling for 3-miles above 6700 ft, there are raining for every time so the lands are very muddy. Then reach to the beautiful Confluence of Maykha & Malikha (Myitsone). There are an only durwan at the guest house near confluence (Myitsone) to take night stop.

Next day continue to Panantin village and Nga-wa village. The travellers have to change again the local porters and collect some rations for the next trip. Then continue to take for 9 miles and cross the 1000 ft long suspension bridge to reach Wan Su Wan village. Continue to Laing village and cross the streams to meet the Lisue & Rawan hilltribes. After took above 4400 ft for 11 miles trip, reach to Tasonetan village. Then cross for the 3 different kinds of water falls, cross the suspension bridge over the Sinkuewin river, reach the Tibetan villages and Khayaung village above 14000 ft. Night stop at 6 miles far Ta-aung-tan village. There are 8 houses and Buddhist monastery in the village. Change again for the new local Tibetan porters. They are not only porters but also very skilful mountaineer and well experience in cool weather.

Next day uphill climb to the 4 miles trip for 5 hrs to reach Talihtu Camp & 7 miles to Kaman Camp. Up to this camp the travellers can fine easy the fishes for food. After there no fishes for food at above 11000 ft. So the travellers have to bring more rations.

Then reach to the Base Camp of Hkakaborazi above 12000 ft - 15000 ft. This is the strange place without trees. So the travellers need to collect more fire woods, fuels and stoves for the mountaineering trip to the top of Hkakaborazi. The return trip has take for only 2 days from Naung mun.

The mountaineering trip to Hkakaborazi is suitable on Sept; to Nov, Dec .. The persons who interested in this trip no hesitate to contact our company. We will handle for all permission and security from the Government and the Township officials. All the trip will be accepted by our company.
