Following up to Elaine

I was thinking more about the travel services that let you order currency
online or by phone and then deliver it to you.

Ignore my post above then!

Incidentally, I'm very curious about how the new law about having to

show
photographic id to buy foreign currency will work.

The easiest way to find that out is to go and buy some Euros at Thomas

Cook.

Do you have any sources
that explain it please?

I got the details from my bank managers, when they were updating their
records on me, so I don't know if there is anything online.

What's this about, Colin?
I'm about to buy Euros for the first time this year. To save hassle, do we
now need to take passports or whatever again (as we used to centuries ago!).
Haven't heard anything about this.

To save hassle, don't buy euros in advance. Just use your ATM card when
you get to Europe. I can't think of any way you'd arrive in Europe (from
the UK, which is where you're from) where this wouldn't be an easy thing
to do.
