Default What happened to Car rental prices (Germany) ?!

Hi
I need to rent a car for 2 weeks in Germany (Munich) october 6 - 21.
AutoEurope is quoting $486 (!) basic rate, downtown, for
economy/cheapest one. Search engines dont seem to do better
than $26/day for economy thru Budget. Sixt is $225/week for VW Lupo.

Overall, rates seems a lot higher than what I expected
What happened to all those @$100/week deals, that people were getting a
year or two ago - do they still exist ?

Does anyone have a tip on a good deal ?

Thanks
Alex

Perhaps because of Oktoberfest that ends on October 6, rental cars are in
great demand and there's a predicted shortage until normality returns? The
best I can find on net for a fully-inclusive compact car/week is £129/$208.

For fully-inclusive rate it is better than what I've found. Who is it
from ? TIA
The rates I see seem to be common throughout Germany in general, so I
don't think Oktoberfest affects it that much.

I've got it from www.holidayautos.co.uk. I think they own www.kemwell.com in
the US, though their price may be different.

For two + some luggage it's actually OK.
But you have only 1.600 km free. If you want to travel more kilometers I
don't think it's the best car for.
