Default What happened to Car rental prices (Germany) ?!

Prices do seem to have gone up over the past year. I've been renting
in Germany (usually Munich, sometimes Frankfurt) twice a year since
1996 and have definitely noticed an upsurge in prices this year.
However, put it in perspective: $30 a day for a car is still pretty
cheap.

Anyway, I've actually found Hertz to have the best prices the past two
times I've rented. I was surprised. Usually I always rent from
AutoEurope (which, by the way, promises to beat the lowest price you
can find, and always has for me when asked).

FYI, Kemwell is owned by AutoEurope, which is why their sites look the
same. However, sometimes one or the other is actually cheaper, so
check both.

Well, there are two of us + some luggage, looks a bit flimsy as well

For two + some luggage it's actually OK.
But you have only 1.600 km free. If you want to travel more kilometers I
don't think it's the best car for.

Have you really seen one in the fleash?
They're surprisingly quick, especially on twisty roads. I chased one on my
bike last year up the Bernadina Pass in Switzerland. It had 2 peoople and
(presumably) luggage, and I was on a Triumph Daytona (130bhp) - I couldn't
catch it. Admittedly there was a little bit of traffic and it was a damp
road, but they don't have to slow down for corners....
