Xmas in America this year
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7063733.stm
US dollar touches a new euro low The value of the dollar has been on a downward spiral The US dollar tumbled to yet another new low against the euro, as speculation mounted that US interest rates would be cut again next week. The euro hit $1.4394 by late trade in New York, breaking the record set last Friday, when one euro bought $1.4319. And the pound hit a three-month high against the dollar at 2.0574. A slew of weak data - including a drop-off in durable goods sales and plummeting demand for new homes - has underlined woes in the US economy. |

Things here in California are creeping up in price, we are off to Paris this Monday, dreading the sticker shock when we order our first meals. |

Hi, well there's lots of new demand for homes in the San Diego area now.... but really with the exchange rate the way it is the US is a bargain for european travelers. I think if I was going to recommend a place in the US to visit it would be... TEXAS. has everything but snow skiing (and if god had meant for texans to ski he would have given them colorado too). |

...I heard a lot of normal Americans couldnt afford to pay for their homes anymore. Perhaps I'll buy 1 (or 2) while I'm there ;-) Hi, what happened was a lot of people bought a lot more house than they could afford with loans based on amoung other things the prime rate... the prime rate doubles and their note doubles too... and they couldn't pay them... those that did fixed rate loans are fine. and those buying NOW are getting good deals. |
