I was there last week and we took a private tour to the stingray sandbar.

The boat owner was talking about Ivan and some of the things that have
happened because of it. One thing that stands out in my mind is that 25% of
the population left the island for good. Dropping the population from 40k to
about 30k. That's got to be devastating to an economy. Not to mention what
it does to the morale of those that chose to stay.

I have no idea actually. One of my group had originally booked through
Soto's but read her email wrong and so we missed that one. We came across
Moby Dick tours first, the price was acceptable to us all (There were 4 in
our group) at $35 and had a great time.

I assume that there were probably more people offering tours, but most
likely earlier. As it was around 1pm local time when we found out we had
missed our original tour.

It did seem like there were quite a few people offering island tours. I
guess I saw between 5 and 10. But other than that, I don't remember seeing
much.

We were a little ****ed that we only had about 15 minutes to shop before
everything on the island closed lol.
