Default Looking for Wine tours in Hunter Valley: Travel by train

I recently stayed at the Comfort Inn at Cessnock which is in your price
range.
It was of a reasonable comfortable standard and is within about 60 seconds
walk to the main street and Pubs etc for meals.
Even though we had a car in which to tour the Vineyards I did notice that
Wine Tours were available from the motel.

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for your info.
It seems that I would be better off by finding
accomodation in Cessnock or Maitland.

I am wondering whether you would be able to
give me a rough idea of accomodation prices
in Cessnock or Maitland. Is it realistic to find
double/tripple accomodation for $60-80 in Maitland
or Cessnock ?

thanks and cheers
Ranga

Getting to Cessnock without a car is pretty difficult. Here is a web site to
help with accom. -
http://www.aussie-travel.com.au/wale...m/cessnock.htm

Maitland has four direct trains a day from Sydney - Countrylink. You can
also get there on Cityrail trains, but that requires a change at Hamilton
and is much slower. A site for Maitland Accomm is -
http://www.hotelmotelnetwork.com.au/...motor_inn.html [
have stayed there on a number of occasions] Also try
http://www.huntervalleyhotels.com.au...nter_index.htm these seem a
lower price range and are typical Aussie "Pubs".
