We are moving there this weekend. Milan is bloody awful, and so we
found a beautiful little village about 15-25 mins from Genova, and got
a nice appartment with a sea view.

The lifestyle is a million times better than Milan, with sea and
mountains. The next town along is Recco, which has the best focaccia
on earth, and the town after that is the incredibly beautiful Camogli.
Cinque Terre is not far away, and Portofino is also close.

If you are not locked to a specific town, there are actually better
places than Sori. For instance Pieve or other places in between the
coastal towns. There are some great villas overlooking the sea along the
coast (if you can afford that).

Well, Sori is right next to Pieve! And Sori is nice and quiet, plus
well linked to the rest of Liguria. It depends a lot on what you
consider 'better' really. Certainly the place we have found is very
nice, and in a great location (2 minutes to the beach, 4 minutes to
the station).

Ultimately I am looking to buy a 'rustica' in the hills for a bit of a
longer term project, before considering things like bambinis. Who
knows what will actually happen...
