Singapore + Malaysia in March ?

You could go either way.

I took long-distance buses in Malaysia last July/August. I find that
they're comfortable when not full. The Kuala Terengganu-Kota Bharu
route was too crowded for me to avoid sitting next to someone, and the
seats were a little narrow, but the trip was ~3 hours and, thus,
tolerable.
