Carnival offers wireless laptop access - fyi
Sorry if this is old news. It was news to me. I just returned from a week
on the Carnival Glory. Was very surprised to find that they offer wireless access from your own laptop in and around the Internet Cafe. It is normal 802.11b. I asked the Cafe manager how long they have been offering this and he said that they tried it on two ships in February and it is now on all Carnival ships. I asked if they plan to offer it in the cabins. He said, no, due to too much metal. But he said they hope to offer it in the atrium, Lido, etc. The cost was $100. for 250 minutes (4 hours and 10 minutes). There were other plans for less minutes. You can use it anytime, 24 hours per day and on debarkation day, up until you leave the ship. I had no problems using it and it was reasonably fast. FYI, Gordon |
