Default Bungalow recommandations in Thailand needed!

We are planning on spending four weeks in Thailand Jan/Feb 2005, and are
looking for recommendations on where to go. We would like four weeks of
beach, sun and relaxation, but never having been in Thailand before we hope
somebody has some ideas for us. We would really like to have our own
bungalow on the beach, but hoping to stay away from the major tourist
locations.

Beeing newly weds and just done with our degrees, we can't afford to stay at
a five star facility. Still, we would like some comfort (and a bathroom!)
and hopefully not more than 12-1300 bath a night.

Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

Hi Goran,

I would recommend Bang Saphan in Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The familiy run Siam Garden Beach Resort is a small secluded resort right on
the beach boasting a 10 km long deserted beach. Bungalow rates start at 350
baht.
tel. 01-88022644 faz. 01-4587877
My family loved the place and so did I.
Much less touristy than Koh Phangan, Phuket, Samui, Tao etc.

Have fun.

Cheers

The original poster asked for recommendations of "where to go". OMW's
reponses was completely appropriate. And I agree with him.

You're dreaming -- "...four weeks of beach, sun and relaxation...". I guess you
could find a nice sunny spot among the pilings on the Chao Phraya river, but that might
be a stretch.
