The book has had a special impact in opening up Christian religious
issues that most of the public either were ignorant of and barely heard of. In turn this resulted in the publication of other books which expanded on the errors in Brown's book. The book that the plot was lifted from - Holy Blood and the Holy Grail was a best seller 25 years ago. And there were two novels written even earlier that used reinterpreted Christianity and Gnostics/Templars (respectively) as their major themes: Robert Graves's "King Jesus" (1946) and Lawrence Durrell's "Monsieur" (1974). Both are in an entirely different league from Brown's rehashed crap. ============== j-c ====== @ ====== purr . demon . co . uk ============== Jack Campin: 11 Third St, Newtongrange EH22 4PU, Scotland | tel 0131 660 4760 http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/ for CD-ROMs and free | fax 0870 0554 975 stuff: Scottish music, food intolerance, & Mac logic fonts | mob 07800 739 557 |

Magda trolls: .. On 29 Jun 2005 18:34:26 +0200, in rec.travel.europe, Mini One arranged some electrons, so they looked like this : ... I'm sure he can use his Gillette Mach 3 on his legs. Let's not shock ... him! He'll probably have a heart attack if he tried to wax his legs! ... ... Emilia (who changed her ID) That's an idea... the real men would be those who survived waxing - from the big toe up to the bikini line. 8-)) Yo bitch: why are you constantly changing your e-mail address? Only trolls go to the trouble to do that, so I guess that makes you a troll... -- Best Greg "plonk again..." |
