Default tipped enough?

Unless my glasses are failing me I think that we both said the same thing.

We both said that while not "required" it IS a reward for exemplary service.

I guess my glasses are failing me...I read...no, let me go one better

since
you brought up the question...in the "Know Before You Go" booklet that

comes
with your cruise documents you will discover that it has an index.

In that index on page 3 you will discover at the bottom of the page a line
that says "Tipping Not Required" Policy....45.

Forgive me if I am wrong, Dick, but isn't that EXACTLY what I said in my
post? I left it attached so that you can check it out once again.

It isn't nice to put words where they weren't, or to say that things

aren't
when they really are.

That is not true, Mark.

HAL has had the "no tipping required" policy for over 30 years, and 30

years
ago they did attempt to pay their people more than other lines.

But the truth is that tipping is not "required" anywhere, it is a reward

for
performance.

HAL has a "Tipping Not Required" policy, so anything above $0 is

proper.

This was my tipping on the Oosterdam cruise:

cabin steward 100$ (in three parts)

main waiter: 40 $
main waiters helper: 20$
wine steward: 40$ (always had diet coke, no wine :-) )

team from a bar: 50 $ (an extra 10$ to the barkeeper)

two favourite waiters: each 40$

Is this a proper dimension or did I undertip?

Thanks for your comments!
