However...

I suggest that anyone considering this consult the U.S. Department of State
Consular Information Sheet for Venezuela.

In particular, consider the information in the sections
"Safety and Serucity" and "Crime".

Based on this information and on my personal contact with Venezuelans
I would advise great caution.
