Bangkok to Siem Reap - cheap flights?
Bangkok Airways lists a round trip price of about US $300.
Any other airlines fly the same route at a lower rate? Does any one know of agents in Bangkok who sell cheaper air tickets? Thanks in advance. |

Bangkok Airways is the only airline to fly this route, they have an exclusivity. So you probably won't find a lower price. R. -- Photos of Southeast Asia http://www.rale.be |

Bangkok to Siem Reap - cheap flights?
You could always go overland for about $10 each way. It takes the
entire day, a little bumpy and dusty but its a good experience. BKK-SR. |

Bangkok to Siem Reap - cheap flights?
Starting from Kho Sarn Road in Bangkok, you will get in a nice
White, AC Van. They drop you off at the Cambodian border (about 4 hours) and you walk into Cambodia. Here you will sit for a few hours, then you will get in the back of a small Toyota Pick up truck with a few honkys and about 13 Cambodians with bags of stuff (its a bit cramped). The Cambodians will have their heads and faces covered with a hat and a sheet over it to prevent the sun from making them darker then they already are. I Paid the dude a little extra to sit inside the truck (60 Bath if I remember correctly). Its funny because all the Europeans had the chance to take it but refused to pay the little extra fee. All the honkys got sun burned from the long trip but did not seem to mind. Be sure to do this in the "Dry season". They will arrive at night and drop you off at a guest house at around 8pm, the first night just pay the extra $2 a night (should cost you about $5 to $7 a night). The next night you can hunt for a cheaper place if you insist like The Europeans often do. Don't be afraid to quietly ask for a discount (with a smile) on the room with the bathroom. A motor driver should cost you no more than $5 per day ALL DAY. DON'T spoil them with $10 a day because this will only make things more difficult for European tourists that don't have as much money as you. One BAD thing about fellow American Tourists is their habit of happily paying WAY too much for rooms and services. This secretly annoys the **** out of broke ass Europeans slumming Asia for the season. |
