Default Travel to London

Hi,

I'm planning to travel to London in Octuber. How many days should I
spend to meet London without lose important places to view/stay?

As a Beatles fan, I'm also planning to meet Liverpool. How many day
for Liverpool? And which way is best for transportation from London to
Liverpool?

Thanks in advance

The minimum would be 4-5 days.

2-3 days in Liverpool. The bus is the cheapest way to get there, but
the train is more pleasant.

Beatles tours are about three hours, and visit Strawberry Fields,
Penny Lane, and the childhood homes of the four Beatles, and finish on
Mayhew Street, where the club where they got their start was. (It's
now a cafe.) Mayhew Street has a lot of Beatles memorabilia shops,
and there are a lot of music clubs in the area, some of which feature
Beatles cover bands.

In addition to the Beatles, Liverpool played a very important role in
two major historical phenomena: the slave trade, and European
immigration to the Americas. The little-known but excellent
Merseyside Maritime Museum has a lot of information about both of
those and about Liverpool's role in them.

The Walker and Tate Liverpool museums are worth seeing if you are
interested in art.

The downtown area near the docks has a lot of buildings from around
1900, and is a very good concentrated example of architectural styles
from that era.

And what about a pilgrimage to the Abbey Road studios while in London.

snip

You can save a lot of money on the British train fares if you buy your
ticket well ahead of time.

4 days will give you a good overview IMO. You could easily spend two
weeks if you wanted.

You'd get a lot out of the city in 2 days.

Train (journey time is around 2 and a half hours). Book in advance for
cheaper tickets.

Liverpool has some of the finest architecture in the UK IMO, but it's a
bit of a mix. There are some absolute clunkers among the great
buildings. The two cathedrals are worth a visit, particularly the
anglican, which is a sublime building. The best view of Liverpool IMO is
from the other side of the mersey. A quick trip on the rail (goes under
the river) or the ferry of course will take you to Birkenhead (get off
at Hamilton Square)- though I've noticed people differ on the exact
'best' spots. The skyline is changing quite dramatically at the moment.
Some people like this- some people don't- either way, it's clear that
there's a lot of building and regeneration in Liverpool just now.

*language nitpick*

You meant 'advice'. It's never plural in English.

impossible question really.

Personally I would want to make two walks. One taking in Soho,
Buckingham palace, British Museum and the Inns of Court down to the
Thames and nexy day continue along the Thames to Greenwich after trip
on the "eye". But thats how I like to see cities. If you want to do
all the museums and galleries you might need 14 days!
