Vietnam Nov/December...
I was there in '97. Just HCMC and Nha Trang.
I'll be going back there with a friend sometime November or December (not sure exactly yet). I had seen some stuff about VN on TV and noticed it was built up a bit since I was there. Cu Chi tunnels area looked much more Tourist slick than when I was there. I may have to hang around HCMC quite a bit and there's not much to do there especially since I had been there once already. Anything new/different worth seeing in HCMC since '97? If I can escape HCMC how is the railroad for going up North these days? Any recomended 'must see' stops? Hue perhaps? TIA Dean |

Hi,
I haven't spent a lot of time in HCMC, so can't offer much there. If I can escape HCMC how is the railroad for going up North these days? Excellent....quite a range of trains to suit your budget and timetable...from the "hard seats" to carriages with airline style seats and airconditioning. Any recomended 'must see' stops? Hue perhaps? I always enjoy Hue, so would recommend a few days stopover. How about Ha Noi? I live there and I like the central city.... a lot to see and a lot different from HCMC and most other Asian cities. Ha Noi can start to get cool in December as winter sets in. Regards, Mike |
