CANADA Resident Cards Required for Re-Entry
Effective December 31, 2003, permanent residents (incl. children) of Canada
must hold the new Canadian Permanent Resident card (PR card) for travel to Canada. The PR card will replace Form IMM 1000 (Record of Landing Form), which will no longer be accepted as of this date. Permanent residents returning to Canada without a valid PR card as of December 31, 2003, will not be permitted to board and will be required to contact the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate to obtain a limited-use travel document to re-enter Canada. |

I don't know anything about this card or where you get it. I was given this
print out from a gate agent at JFK who said they just got it also. Supposedly it has something to do with all the foreigners who are holding fake Canadian Health Cards and use them as identification to slip in and out of countries including Canada that have lax entry and exit requirements. In any event, it doesn't give people much time. "Jordan" wrote in message ... Suggest you take a look at the following from Canada Immigration's site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pr-card/index.html You should note that the PR card is required only if you are a Permanent Resident of Canada and are entering Canada by commercial carrier. If you are driving across the border is not required yet. PMM |
