Seasonal market fragmentation!
That's come to my market (Germany-YVR). For a long time, LH has been
operating FRA-YVR, usually on 747s (first -200s, maybe a DC-10 ocassionally, now -400s). An A340-600 (50 seats less than a LH 744) is being used for now, but during the summer, a new MUC-YVR service is added and both a/c will be downguaged to 340-300s. I guess the route is big enough to support 2 smaller flights, at least during summer, over 1 big one. A/c are operating MUC-YVR-FRA and FRA-YVR-MUC for scheduling purposes presumably. |
