And, when you repost consider rec.travel.air for questions about how to get
there and rec.travel.europe for questions about what to do once there and
how to get around.

Oh, and tell people where you want to start from and where you think you
might want to go and why (what do you want to see - cities, mountains,
something specialist like steam trains, certain museum types...........)

If you can't even see where you're posting, you'd better stay at home 'cos
you'll need a lot of explanations....

And he also uses a Compaq. Gary, start with getting a copy of "Let's Go"
for Europe. It is more oriented to the student traveller and will probably
help answer some of your questions. I take it that this is your first trip
to Europe. Do some research and self introspection about why, where then
look at the how and how much and even when. It will be cheaper to go in off
season although some places may not be accessible, like some hotels, museums
as they were in high or shoulder seasons. Unless you want to walk, hitch
hike, bicycle or motorcycle then you are left with trains as far as economy
goes. Look, think and then get back. FWIW, j.w.
