MISS ITALIA WORLD CANDIDATES TO SAIL ON MSC OPERA
Women of Italian Heritage to Compete for USA, Caribbean Titles

More than 40 American and Caribbean women of Italian ancestry will be
special guests onboard MSC Cruises’ March 11, 2006 sailing of MSC
Opera as part of the Miss Italia World 2006 competition.

They will be competing for the right to represent the United States
and the Caribbean in the international Miss Italia World 2006
competition to be held in Italy at the end of June.

Now in its 16th year, the Miss Italia World competition celebrates the
beauty of women of Italian heritage from around the world; women of
Italian ancestry from 52 countries outside of Italy will be competing
for cash and prizes and the title of Miss Italia World 2006.

“What better place to showcase the candidates’ Italian heritage than
on MSC Cruises?” says Richard E. Sasso, president and CEO of MSC
Cruises USA. “As an Italian-owned company, we at MSC Cruises pride
ourselves in our Italian heritage. It is an integral part of every
cruise, from the design to the Italian officers, chefs and waiters
and, of course, authentic Italian cuisine.”

During the seven-night cruise, 21 women representing such Caribbean
countries as Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Colombia and the
Dominican Republic and 20 candidates representing such U.S. cities as
Chicago and New York will participate in pageant activities and
performances, while being filmed by Italian television Rai Uno.

MSC opera departs Fort Lauderdale on its roundtrip journey March 11,
calling at San Juan, St. Maarten, La Romana and Cayo Levantado. The
itinerary also includes two days at sea. At the end of the cruise,
pageant participants will travel to Miami to compete in the March 18
finale. All MSC cruises can be booked by contacting your travel
professional.
