Help! Were you on the Diamond Princess 5/21/04?
I just got off the phone with TravelGuard. They need a "Proof of
Reason" document from Princess concerning our trip delay in order to process our claim. I didn't know the letter we received in our cabins from the captain was as important as it is, and didn't keep it. Does anyone here have that letter, and might you be able to scan it and e-mail it to me so I can print it out for my claim? Many TIA, Sue |

Sue, If no one here has it, you might check on cruise critics or call Princess and see if they will give you a duplicate letter. sue |

Princess and see if they will give you a duplicate letter. Thanks so much, Sue. Cruise Critics is a great resource! I did call Princess; all they could fax me was a copy of Cruise Week's Special Edition: "Despite Rumors, Diamond Princess O.K. After Docking Accident." It was interesting; talking to the lady I got in Customer Relations, she knew less about the pier crash than the people at TravelGuard or American Airlines I talked to from the ship! :-) Sue |

I am not surprised about Princess customer relations being useless. sue |

Sometimes the more they know, the more you ask. Therefore they "play" dumb!

Help! Were you on the Diamond Princess 5/21/04?
You know, obtaining this letter for my travel insurance has been the only thing
about this cruise that has left a bad taste. Despite the trouble with embarkation and disembarkation it was a wonderful cruise! I contacted Princess and they require that my travel agent (who is currently on a cruise) request the letter in a specific format, and then Princess will send the letter to my travel agent in two weeks or so. It seems to me that Princess should have a letter ready to go in this type of circumstance. Considering I was not let off the ship until after 5PM, I feel asking for this letter for my travel insurance claim is a very small request. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ Cricket in the California Desert TDC Nurse to all Disney Creatures and their guests Diamond Princess, 5/04 Alaska Diamond Princess, 9/04 Mexico Island Princess, 3/05 Hawaii |

You are very kind! Someone on another board scanned their
letter into a PDF form and e-mailed it to me. So I'm now set. Thanks so much! Sue steamer wrote in message --I could fax a copy to you; where are you located? |
