OT/Operation Dear Abby
The holidays can be a lonely time. Especially for members of our armed
forces....who may be serving far from family and loved ones. As such, people were encouraged for years to write US servicememembers stationed overseas and "at the home front" this time of year through "Operation Dear Abby". Unfortunately, because of the events following September 11 in regards to safety of the mails, letters themselves can no longer be mailed. Enter cyberspace. Rather than mailing letters, the same letters can be mailed by the touch of a keyboard and click of a mouse. At no cost to you, e-mail can be sent to servicemembers (now you can designate the branch of service/state they are from) at: http://anyservicemember.navy.mil/ |
