Utter nonsense. What security experts call "security theaters". Great movie plot material (and obviously derived from over exposure to the same), but useless in any practical context outside the entertainment industry. If a Google Earth aerial photo needs to be "scrubbed" then there's a huge vulnerability that allowed it to be taken in the first place. Real terrorists will sooner exploit that than rely on horribly dated intel. Consequently, the only people who will actually learn anything from Google Earth are people who aren't a threat anyway, and it won't be useful in any practical way. But it sure will allow the mind to wander. Believe that if you want to, but I am glad YOU aren't in charge of security for the country. |

Guantanomo is a palace, compared to most of the prisons anywhere else in the world. The prisoners in Guantanamo can't even kill themselves. They'd like to. Over a hundred of them are strapped to their cots and fed with tubes. They are even prevented from throwing up in order to ensure they get nourishment. What an abomination Washington has become. http://tinyurl.com/3e2jgy |

not a single entity on the planet has been able to
successfully manufacture an explosive out of liquids in any... On Korean Air Flight 858, in 1987, a liquid explosive bomb killed 115 passengers. There have been other incidents, too. The current restrictions were put in place after British police uncovered a plot to bring down 10 commercial flights using liquid explosives hidden in carry-on luggage and in beverage containers. |

But it sure will allow the mind to wander. Believe that if you want to, but I am glad YOU aren't in charge of security for the country. Why? Do you feel safer having the people who actually are in charge of it placate the irrational fears you have as a result of your lacking education, with useless goblin hunts? I'll bet $20 you think restrictions of liquids in carry on luggage make you safer too, don't you? Never mind the fact that not a single entity on the planet has been able to successfully manufacture an explosive out of liquids in any and environment or time frame that could remotely be equated with an actual flight or anything, just bob that fuzzy head of yours up and down, let loose your bleating approval, and convince yourself you're "safer" because your handlers say you are. And all the while sheeple, people are smuggling explosives, guns, knives, and all manner shape and for of contraband through US air terminals **every single day**. That's the net result of your precious security theater sonny... nothing but the false sense of security most such horrid misapplications of resources produce. If you think terrorists get intel from Google Earth you're an imbecile. It's both too dated in most cases and too easily manipulated. The image of some raghead clicking pas his Matrix screen saver and pulling up real time images of Washington might make for a dandy opening chapter in some Tom Clancy novel, but in real life those sorts of folk know better, and get their intel from more reliable and useful sources. And if you have forgotten nitro glycerin, the terrorists haven't. It is also possible to mix liquids to form any number of toxic gases. And if you really believe terrorists can't make use of such things as Google Earth, you are living in some other universe. And while we are on Clancy novels, read "Debt of Honor", and see just what happens at the end. Hint: An airliner is flown into the Capitol building. Of course that is just an imaginary scenario, and anyone would be a fool to believe it could really happen, right? |
